Puttur: Two years have passed since a large number of students from all over the country had appeared for Scouts and Guides Rashtrapati Puraskar examination and have been waiting for their results which have still not been declared. In this backdrop, Satwik Sharma B S, a second PU student of Vivekananda PU College here, has complained to the Prime Minister, drawing his attention to the fact that two years have passed and yet the results of the said examination have not been declared.
The examination in question was held in 2017 and Satwik had complained to the PM through the PG Portal in December 2018. He received a response stating that the complaint had been forwarded to the sports ministry for necessary action. Later, the sports ministry said that the complaint had been referred to Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Contradicting RTI answers
Satwik’s father Rajesh Krishnaprasad sought to know the status of the result through RTI query. In the response that he received, he was informed that the results were ready, while on another instance, he was informed that the process was still in progress. Mr Krishnaprasad said that when the Scouts and Guides headquarters was contacted they informed that the result is pending in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Hence, Satwik wrote to the PM again on June 7.
When he appeared for the said examination, Satwik was a SSLC student of Vivekananda Kannada Medium School. Students attempting the examination take a long leave as they have to work hard to study various subjects and undertake 14 projects and the examination is conducted for a week at Bengaluru. The examination attracts many students as they get quota for admission under engineering, medical and some other courses. The inordinate delay in declaring the results will result in the efforts of the students going waste, points out Krishnaprasad.
