Mangaluru: Kadri police station ASI Santosh Padil exemplified humanity by procuring medicine from the medical shop and giving it a patient who required it for emergency procedure late in the night. Impressed by the humanitarian quality and honesty of Mr Santosh, the city Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil honoured the ASI with a letter of appreciation.
On July 5th at around 1 am in the night, ASI Santosh who was on beat in the Sagar patrol vehicle noticed a woman standing on the roadside at Kadri Shivbhag. On enquiry, the woman revealed that her father was not keeping well and required urgent medication; therefore she was waiting to catch an auto rickshaw. Advising the lady that it was not safe to be out alone in the middle night, The ASI took the lady in the patrol vehicle to a medical shop at Kankanady and dropped her back to her home after she bought the necessary medication from the shop.
On Sunday, the lady expressed her gratitude towards the cop who helped her during her time of need and sent the message on Twitter to the Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil. On Monday, the Commissioner invited ASI Santosh to his office and honoured him.
