KSRTC: Volvo bus service between State Bank-Kasaragod

Mangaluru: In order to make it convenient for passengers travelling between State Bank and Kasaragod, KSRTC has decided to start AC Volvo bus service.
In response to the requests by the passengers, the new service is expected to begin within a week. Presently, the service will be provided by two buses and a temporary timetable has also been created.
Speaking with ‘Udayavani’, KSRTC Mangaluru Divisional Controller K.M. Ashraf said, “In the backdrop of demand from the passengers between Mangaluru-Kasaragod, KSRTC has decided to start 2 Volvo bus service in the next few days. Depending upon the response from the passengers, additional buses will be deployed,” he informed.
The fare for one way aboard the Volvo bus will be Rs 75 while the day pass (for travelling twice) will cost Rs 130. The present fare on ordinary express buses of KSRTC along the same route is Rs 56 and altogether, there are 39 such buses along the route and ply 266 trips from Bejai to Kasaragod daily.
Timetable
The bus will leave daily from State Bank at 7, 7:45, 10, 10:45, in the morning, at 2 and 2:45 in the afternoon and at 6 pm in the evening. Similarly, the bus will begin its trip form Kasaragod at 5:55 in the dawn, with next trips at 8:30, 9:15 in the morning, 12:30 in the afternoon and at 4, 4:40 in the evening.
