Yellow alert sounded in Kerala

Possible strong winds-rains

Kasaragod: The Weather Department has given the forecast there could be strong winds and heavy rains in the district on July 18, 19 and 20, and hence, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been announced.

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has given the order to start the rehabilitation work and also shift the residents there from areas/houses deemed unsafe for residence.

In the present year, the district has received 944.8125 mm rain so far and in the last 24 hours there was 12.2 mm of rain.

Areas under Yellow alert

July 18: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pattanantitta, Alappula, Ernakulum, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.

July 19: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pattanantitta, Alappula, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kasaragod.

July 20: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pattanantitta, Alappula, Kottayam, Kasaragod.
