Mangaluru: A youth stabbed another youth with the intention to murder the latter at Malemar Nekkilagudde at 9:30pm on Thursday night. The attacker then made good his escape.
Kodikal resident Deeraj (25) stabbed Ratan Raj (28) of Mangaladevi with a knife and the injured youth has been admitted at a private hospital in the city.
Incident details
Mangaladevi residents Ratan Raj and Punith were friends. Ratan had an old grudge on Dheeraj and had shared this information with his friend Punith. In response, Punith had assured him that he would compromise and negotiate the altercation between the two.
Weapon hidden in the bike
Accordingly, Punith had asked Ratan and Dheeraj to come to Nekkilagudde in Malemar on Thursday night. During this occasion, an argument broke out between Ratan and Dheeraj and taking exception of Ratan, the latter retrieved the knife hidden in his bike, stabbed Ratan and fled, inform the cops.
Punith, who had arranged this negotiation meet has ended shocked by the incident. It is understood that, he had no clue regarding the weapon being hidden in the bike nor Dheeraj’s intentions.
The police inform that the injured victim is recovering and far from any danger to is life.
A case has been registered at Kavor police station in this connection and the cops have spread a net to catch the accused.
