Woman loses Rs 14 lakh gold ornaments on train

Mangaluru: Gold jewellery worth Rs 14 lakh belonging to a woman passenger, who was travelling to Mumbai in CST Express train, was allegedly stolen from her bag while she was asleep.
The woman, Geetha Nadar (48), a resident of Suratkal filed a case of theft at Panvel railway police station
In her complaint, Geetha has mentioned that she along with her son had boarded the S-5 coach of the train at 5.15pm from Suratkal station here. They both fell asleep sometime after the train crossed Ratnagiri station. When Geetha woke up at around 6.45 am as train was passing Roha station she realised that the zip of her handbag was open. Upon checking her bag she found that the gold ornaments in her bag was missing.
Since the next scheduled stop for the train was at Panvel, Geetha filed a complaint there.
