New Delhi: Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said reading clubs should be formed in neighbourhoods to promote a reading culture.

He made the remarks while launching several e-projects of the Publications Division such as its redesigned website, mobile application, e-version of the ‘Rozgaar Samachar’ and e-book ‘Satyagrah Geeta’.

Javadekar, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to citizens during ‘Mann Ki Baat’ 2.0 programme to make reading a habit, reading culture should be revitalised.

He also urged for the creation of reading clubs in neighbourhoods.

The role of ‘Rozgar Samachar’ can be improved when all the job listing, including the private ones, are listed in the newspaper, Javadekar said.

He suggested that ‘Rozgar Samachar’, if distributed in colleges, will help students to improve their skill sets and make them better suited for the job market.
