New Delhi/Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar called on Dr Harshavardhan, union minister for health and family welfare in the capital on Thursday, August 1 and urged him to grant a super specialty hospital to the city of Mangaluru under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Surakhsha Yojana’ scheme.
The MP highlighted that the establishment of a super specialty hospital in Mangaluru will encourage health sector in the coastal region of Karnataka and additionally, the public will find it convenient to avail advanced treatment at pocket-friendly costs.
The MP invited the minister to be the chief guest for the ‘Guru Vandana Chathra Abhinandana’ programme, which is organized by the Bharath Vikas Parishad in Mangaluru on September 14. He also requested the minister to inaugurate the new hospital built at Kateel, which will be run by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, on October 7 and also to visit the campus of Manipal Academy of Higher Education on the same day or on October 5. In the response, the minister assured that he will take part in some of these programmes.
