Woman loses life due to electrocution
Incident at Narikombu house on Saturday

Bantwal: A woman who was hanging clothes to dry on a wire lost her life after she accidentally came in contact with electricity at the Janatagraha in Narikombu village on the evening of August 3rd. The deceased is identified as Geeta alias Manjakka (54), wife of Vishwanath Bangera, a mason by profession and residents of Janatagraha. The deceased is survived by her husband and three daughters.
As soon as the deceased came in contact with electricity she screamed and her husband rushed to her aid and pulled her away. In the process of rescue, he too was electrocuted. But fortunately, the woman’s hands lost contact with the wire and hence the husband survived the incident with his life inform locals.
The woman was immediately rushed to a private hospital in BC road but her life could not be saved. The doctors at the hospital announced her to be brought in dead. The corpse was then shifted to Bantwal Community Health Centre.
On receiving information, TP member Gayatri Ravindra Sapalya, GP member Vishwanath Poojary Kodangekodi, Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R, Panemangaluru Mescom Divisional Officer Vasant and others visited the spot and conducted investigation.
A case in this connection has been registered at Bantwal Town Police.
