Kasargod/Somwarpet: A 38-year-old man died shortly after consuming a ‘prasadam’ he had received through courier in the name of a temple in Kasargod.

The deceased identified as Suresh from Tanniruhalla village in Somwarpet was working at Kanara hotel.

In her complaint, Suresh’s wife Radha said that the prasadam, which was in liquid form had been couriered to the hotel where Suresh was working along with a letter saying that it should be consumed only by the head of the family. Suresh consumed the prasadam after having a bath and within five minutes, he vomited blood and died.

The container of prasadam showed the name of a temple in Kasargod, the complaint said.

Police said an autopsy of the body has been carried out and samples have been sent to the laboratory. The exact reason will be known after the reports are out.

Meanwhile, it is suspected that some miscreants purposefully sent the prasadam to Suresh, with an intention of killing him.
