Mangaluru: After considerable delay, the passengers of Air India Express flight IX 814, who were stranded at Coimbatore airport, after the pilot had finished his duty hours, finally landed at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at 3.00 pm.

Earlier, the Dubai to Mangaluru flight scheduled to arrive at MIA at 4.25 am was diverted to Coimbatore airport due to inclement weather. However, soon after the plane landed at Coimbatore airport at about 5 am in the morning, the pilot abruptly left the flight stating that he had completed his duty hours.

Thus the passengers along the crew were left stranded at Coimbatore airport, stuck within the flight for several hours, waiting for another pilot to fly them to their destination. It is learnt that the passengers were left in a challenging condition within the plane with no water or food.

in the meantime, the airline officials  were on their toes trying to arrange for an alternate pilot and the harrowing experience finally reached its end, after they reached Mangaluru with a whole 12 hours of delay.
