Nandanavana School in Kergalu collapses in rains

Byndoor: A major tragedy was averted when Nandanavana School at Kergalu in the taluk collapsed at around 10 pm on Saturday owing to the incessant rains lashing the district in the past few days.

Nearly 25 students study at the school but since the mishap took place at night no one was present in the school building at the time of the incident.

It is gathered that cracks were visible on school walls on Saturday afternoon and was reduced to rumbles at night.

Post the incident, MLA, officials from concerned departments and panchayat representatives visited the spot.
