Bus-car accident: Car driver dies on the spot

Puttur: A man died on the spot after the car that he was driving was hit by a private bus near Polya of Kabaka on Monday August 12th.
The Maruti Zen car was moving from Puttur and the bus was plying from Mangaluru to Puttur when the ghastly accident occurred. The force of the impact was such that the car was completely mangled. The unfortunate victim was on his way to visit friends and family on the occasion of Bakrid when he breathed his last.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Hakim of Eshwaramangala in Mundole, and was the younger brother of Mundole Siddique Azari Ustad.
Hakim’s corpse has been shifted to the Puttur government hospital for autopsy. Puttur traffic police station has registered a case in this connection.
Outraged public resort to stone pelting
The people at the accident spot alleged that the sole reason for the accident was the rash and negligent driving by the bus driver and proceeded to throw stones at the bus, inform sources. Stone pelted at the bus have damaged its rear windshield.
As many people gathered at the place of the accident, vehicular movement along the stretch was affected for some time.
