CM announces Rs 5 lakh compensation to family of scribe Nagesh Padu

Mangaluru: Chief Minister Yediyurappa on Monday announced a compensation of Rs. five lakh to the kin of journalist Nagesh Padu who passed away due to dengue fever last month.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalist Association had submitted a memorandum seeking compensation for his family during the chief ministers visit to the district to survey flood-hit regions in the district.
Responding to the appeal CM Yediyurappa announced compensation of Rs. five lakh to the family.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Belthangadi MLA Harish Poonja, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil and others were present on the occasion.
