“The village accountant and his staff arrived at my residence on August 12 at about 11.30 am for surveying the destruction due to floods in Talapady village. They filled in the application forms and got them signed for disbursement of compensation. But later I got a telephone call in the name of village accountant from telephone number 8618461060 at about 10.15 pm that night. The caller said that he had not been properly ‘entertained’ by me for surveying 14 houses affected by floods. I was also blamed for not having the courtesy to offer even drinks to the visitors. They also charged me of being arrogant,” states Latif in his complaint.
“As I got confused, I telephoned that number. But the call was rejected. My house is in shambles due to floods. I have not even cleaned up the house. My family and I were staying in the house of relatives and celebrated Bakrid festival there. How can I entertain the village accountant? I am depressed due to the misery heaped on me by the floods. Therefore, I request you to investigate the incident and provide justice to me,” he urged the cops.
