Award-winning Kannada writer SL Bhyrappa to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Wednesday announced that the popular Mysuru Dasara festival will be inaugurated by Award-winning Kannada writer SL Bhyrappa.

Addressing presspersons after chairing a high-level committee meeting to make preparations for the festival Yediyurappa informed that the festival which is scheduled to be held from September 29 to October 8 and it will be organized at a cost of Rs 20.5 crore and also assured that the amount will be released immediately.

When asked if the Mysuru Dasara will be scaled down or made austere in view of the flood situation he said that the will be no changes in the festival celebrations.

“The festival will happen just the way it has been held in the past,” Yeddyurappa said.
