Jewellry Store looted in Uppinangady; Gold worth lakhs stolen

Uppinangady: Thieves broke into R.K. Jewellers, located on the school road in Uppinangady in the wee hours of Wednesday, August 15 and decamped with ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.
The burglars used a gas cutter to break through the shutter door of the store.
The store has a watchman who is also in charge of guarding the locality. It was reported that the robbers committed the act when he was not around. A case has been registered and the police have taken the watchman into custody for investigation.
