Citizen tweets video of bus driver using mobile while driving; Compol initiates action

Mangaluru: City police on Monday initiated action against the driver of a city bus for negligent driving while risking passenger lives after the incident was brought to their notice by a citizen.
Tagging city police commissioner Dr PS Harsha in a tweet a citizen posted a video of a bus driver navigating road bends with one hand while speaking on a mobile phone.

Responding to the tweet, the police served a challan to the bus owner, Sandesh Naik for the offense – using mobile while driving and misbehaving with public.
A fine of Rs 1,100 was collected from Naik for the said offense.
Meanwhile city police commissioner in a tweet said: ” Thank the citizenry for such inputs.. your cooperation will go a long way in bringing deviant individuals to book…”
