Bengaluru: After BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday expanded his ministry by inducting 17 ministers into his Cabinet, the disqualified MLAs decided to go to New Delhi and meet BJP national president Amit Shah to discuss their future course of action.

After attending a meeting at disqualified Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi’s residence, the disqualified MLAs decided to go to New Delhi and Amit Shah.

Addressing presspersons after the meeting, Dr Sudhakar said that the meeting was a routine one and should not be linked to the dissatisfaction among BJP MLAs who could not make it to the cabinet.

Reportedly, the rebels discussed their prospects of making it to the cabinet at a time when the BJP is facing serious dissent after cabinet formation. A former MLA wondered if they would ever get a chance to join the cabinet.

He further added, “The SC was supposed to take up the (disqualification) case on Tuesday. However, since the CJI was busy with the Ayodhya case, our case did not come up for hearing.”

The disqualified MLAs who attended the meeting included Dr K. Sudhakar, Munirathna, Shivaram Hebbar, M.T.B. Nagaraj and Bhairati Basavaraj.
