School bus-lorry accident, two children injured

Surathkal: Two school children were injured after the private school mini-bus that they were travelling in was hit by a lorry at the turn near Hosabettu on Wednesday morning, August 21st.
The school bus was on its way to get the children and was turning into the cross road from the main road at Hosabettu when the lorry which was heading along the highway rammed straight into the bus on its right hand side.
Fortunately, since there were only two children within the bus during the incident, a major mishap was narrowly missed. Nonetheless, the two children in the bus suffered injuries and have been admitted at a hospital in Surathkal. The wounds on the children’s legs have been stitched.
The force of the impact was such that the bus was pushed towards a transformer on the side of the road. It is opinioned that if in case, the electricity pole had broken, a major mishap could have occurred, it is assumed.
Mangaluru north traffic police station has registered a case in this connection.
