Ullal: The corpse of a tiger dancer has been found in a well belonging to a house at Vidyanagar in Kumpala on Saturday. The deceased is identified as Vasant Kumar (57), a resident of Kumpala. Case in this connection has been registered at Ullal police station.
The corpse was found in the well belonging to Anil, a resident of Kumpala. He had participated in the tableau team led by one Sharath at the Mosaru Kudike celebration at Kumpala. Later, he went missing since late into the night. It is suspected that the deceased must have been sitting on top of the wall surrounding the well, lost his balance and ended up in the water. Since the top of the well was covered with sheets, his fall into the well was not noticed for some time. Although the team searched for Vasant, he was nowhere to be found.
On Saturday, when the Shamiyana workers came to remove the sheets, they noticed the tiger mask floating in the well. Later the fire personnel were called in and after some search, the corpse was located.
The deceased was employed as an electrician at Panambur harbour and is married.
