J-K Cong slams Pak for repeated ceasefire violations, demands befitting reply

Mumbai: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress on Tuesday condemned Pakistan for the frequent ceasefire violations along the LoC and demanded that a befitting response be given to the neighbouring country.

Three soldiers and a civilian were killed and four soldiers were injured in cross-border firing and mortar shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in the in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri since August 17.

“The cross border shelling has intensified in the past couple of weeks,” he added. He sought an effective and befitting response to Pakistan’s mischief and foiling of all attempts of infiltration from across the border.

The Party conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for peace to the departed souls, Sharma said as he prayed for early recovery of the injured.
