Final NRC list released; over 19 lakh excluded

Assam NRC final list 2019: Assam’s final National Register of Citizens (NRC) was published on Saturday. The list comes after the draft NRC last year which left out as many as 40 lakh people. Of the 3.3 crore applicants, over 19 lakh were excluded from the final list.

The NRC is an exercise to identify Indian citizens living in Assam, a state marked by illegal migration from Bangladesh.

The final list of names in the Assam National Register of Citizens has been published.The list can be accessed on http://www.nrcassam.nic.in/.
