Bengaluru: The Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) and Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (Fairfax) (through its affiliate Fairbridge Capital Private Limited, India) – have jointly contributed a sum of Rs. 7 crore towards the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) to aid relief operations.
The cheques bearing Rs 3.5 crore from BIAL and an identical amount from Fairfax, were handed over to the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa by Hari Marar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIAL, at his official residence Krishna on Friday.
“BIAL stands with the people of Karnataka at this hour of crisis and we want to ensure that we are able to help those affected by the flood to rebuild their lives as early as possible. We hope that this modest contribution will accelerate ongoing relief and rehabilitation activities and restore normalcy at the earliest,” said Marar.
