Los Angeles: Oscar winner Adrien Brody and actor Bobby Cannavale have joined Ana de Armas in Netflix’s upcoming film “Blonde”, about the ’60s actor Marilyn Monroe.
Armas, best known for films such as “Blade Runner 2049” and “Knock Knock”, will portray Monroe in the film, which is being described as a “boldly reimagined private story of the world’s most famous sex symbol”.
“The film is a fictional portrait of the model, actress and singer during the 50s and 60s, told through the modern lens of celebrity culture,” the streamer said in a statement.
Andrew Dominik of “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” fame has adapted the script from author Joyce Carol Oates’ best-selling book of the same name. He will also direct the film.
Besides the three actors, “Blonde” will also feature Sara Paxton, Julianne Nicholson, Lily Fisher, Evan Williams, Xavier Samuel, Caspar Phillipson, Toby Huss and David Warshofksy.
Actor Brad Pitt is producing the film through his banner Plan B alongside Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon and Scott Robertson.
