Suicide pact: Surviving lover commits suicide by jumping into well

Bhatkal: in the recent incident wherein two lovers attempted suicide by consuming poison due to which the boy died but the girl was rescued in good time, has unfortunately even more tragically with the surviving girl resorting to suicide by jumping into a well on Friday August 30.
After returning from the hospital having survived the suicide attempt with her lover Gagan Iswar Naika (27) who died in the act, Sangeeta Madeva Naika (24), a resident of Bidramane of Kaykini village, had returned to her home after getting treated in the hospital but soon ended up killing herself by jumping into the well.
The couple had attempted suicide by consuming poison on Wednesday afternoon, Aug 28 at Soolebeelu forest of Manki. Gagan died on the spot and Sangeeta was rescued and was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal by the locals. Sangeeta returned home from the hospital on Thursday and sadly, a corpse was found in the well near their home on the morning of Friday, August 30.
A complaint has been filed in this regard at Murdeshwar police station based on the statement of Madeva Naika, father of Sangeeta.
