5 of family burnt alive after car catches fire

Chittoor/Bengaluru: Five-member of a family were burnt alive and one person sustained severe injuries after the car they were travelling turned turtle and caught on fire on early hours Saturday.

The deceased are identified as Jhanavi. Ram, Kala, Sai Ashirith and Pawan, all residents of Bengaluru.

As per the sources, the incident occurred at Mamadugu village of Gangavaram mandal of Chittoor district.

Following the incident, a passerby alerted the police and firefighters who rushed the spot. The firefighters doused the flames and the injured was shifted to a hospital.

The local police registered a case in this regard and are probing into it.
