Rise in fake passports: Intelligence probe from terrorism angle

Kasaragod: The information regarding the fake passports menace plaguing the state of Kerala has been confirmed by the intelligence department.

According to the investigation carried out y the wing so far, most of these passports are obtained by traitors for undertaking anti-national activities.

Apparently, the state government has been warned about such activities in the past and it is learnt that government failed to initiate enough measures to regulate them.

As per the information gathered by the intelligence agencies, it has been confirmed that some who possess fake passports have links with terrorists based in foreign soil. Hence the NIA a thorough probe fake passport case.

It is worth mentioning that back in 2011, over 200 persons living within the jurisdictions of Hosdurg and Ambalattra police station limits had obtained fake passports.
