State government has released Rs 25 crore for development works: MLA Kamath

Mangaluru: The state government has agreed to release a grant of Rs 25 crore for the developmental works in the constituency, informed South assembly constituency MLA Vedavyasa Kamath.
Chief minister B S Yediyurappa has approved the Rs 10 crore grant for the development of bridges and roads that come under the purview of public works department and the finance department has also showed green signal to undertake projects worth Rs 10 crores, he informed.
The CM has been requested to release State Finance Commission (SFC) grant for various works that need to be done in the Mangaluru city south assembly constituency area and accordingly, the CM has approved Rs 15 crore under the special grant from his discretionary fund. Thus, the state governemnt has released a total grant of Rs 25 crore for the development, stated the press release by the MLA.
Mr Kamath also met the DCM and minister for higher education Ashwath Narayan and submitted an appeal to declare Dasara holidays for all the educational institutions of Dakshina Kannada district from September 30 itself so that the students, teachers and parents can partake in the festivities.
