Men attempting to sell banned drugs arrested

Mangaluru: Two persons were arrested on the charges of attempting to sell banned drugs. The accused were caught during a joint operation by special crime detection team and Surathkal police. The arrested are identified as Mohammed Mujamil (40), a resident of Krishnapura in Surathkal and Mohammed Shareef Siddique (40).

It is learnt that on Thursday, the accused were carrying the banned drug MDMA in their car parked near a guest house near Surathkal light house with the aim to sell the same to students.

Police have seized car worth Rs 4 lakh, 11 gm of MDMA worth Rs 30,000, Rs 10,950 in cash and 4 mobile phones worth a total of Rs 21,000 from the accused. The total value of the seized materials is estimated to be around Rs 4,61,950.
