Youth Yakshagana artist Vinaya Acharya no more

Mangaluru: Tenkutti Yakshagana youth artist Vinaya Acharya breathed his last on Monday morning. He was 33.

Vinaya was renowned in the playing of Maddale percussion instrument in Yakshagana events. He was apparently suffering from ill health and was admitted at a private hospital in the city where he breathed his last.

The father of the deceased identified as Narayana Acharya was also a renowned Maddale percussionist.

Being a talented youth and a dependable percussionist, Mr Acharya used to travel with the troupe to Hosanagara, Yedaneeru, Hanumagiri fairs. Due to ill health, he did not take part in the fair route last year.
