10-year-old killed by grandmother

Mandya: The KR Pete police on Tuesday arrested 65-year-old woman for allegedly killing her 10-year-old grandson by drowning him the Hemavati River of the district.
The deceased is identified as Prajwal, a resident of Krishnarajapete.
Speaking on the issue the KR Pete Town Police said, “Shanthamma, the accused, just walked in and said that she had killed her grandson. We sent out a search party and by noon, we recovered the boy’s body. Shanthamma has been booked under section 302 of the IPC.”
It is gathered that after Shanthamma’s daughter – the boy’s mother – remarried and moved to Mangaluru. She was taking care of her grandson.
Meanwhile, the disturbing pictures of the little boy’s body, with his arms and legs tied to a rope and lying on the banks of the river have gone viral on social media.
