State govt to release caste census report soon: CT Ravi

Chikkamagaluru: Minister CT Ravi on Wednesday alleged that the reports of the caste census conducted by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led Congress government were thrown into the dustbin by the CLP leader.

Addressing presspersons here Ravi said that CM BS Yediyurappa led BJP government will be submitting the caste census reports soon.

“The reports made during Siddaramaiah’s governance was thrown into the dustbin, despite spending crores on it,” he alleged.

It may be recalled that during Siddaramaiah governance Rs147 crore census exercise was completed in around 45 days, employing 160,000 people and covering 13.5 million households. It posed 55 questions to determine the number of castes, composition, reservation status and benefits received, and social, political and economic standing.
