Sons asked to pay Rs 20,000 monthly sustenance to aged mother

Kundapur: A JMFC court hearing a woman’s petition seeking monthly sustenance from her two sons directed them to pay her Rs 10,000 per month each with immediate effect.

Hearing the arguments presented by advocate Handakunda Ashok Shetty on behalf of the petitioner Ratnavati, 65, JMFC court judge Nagaratnamma in her interim order directed her sons to pay her the monthly sustenance of Rs 20,000 with immediate effect.

Ratnavati, who happens to be a widow, in her petition, said that she is struggling to meet her ends meet though both her sons – Raghavendra and Raviraj are doing well economically. She also accused them of inflicting mental and physical torture on her.
