Bengaluru: Congress leader HK Patil on Wednesday slammed BJP MP Pratap Simha for his comments in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing pressperson here he said, “As many as 103 taluks in 22 districts were affected due to floods in August, instead of helping the flood victims of the state Pratap is wasting time talking in favour of the PM who has adopted an indifferent behaviour towards Karnataka on the issue of extending flood relief funds from the Centre.”

“Why is Pratap praising Modi when he was not even allowed to meet PM?” he quizzed.

After the opposition Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that he has adopted an indifferent behaviour towards Karnataka on the issue of extending flood relief funds from the Centre, BJP MP Pratap Simha said that that the ones who talk bad about Modi are basically spitting up at the sky.”

Speaking on the issue Simha said Modi is not neglecting Karnataka because he had sent Home Minister Amit Shah to state to review flood situation.

“They say that the MPs are scared of the PM. We are here to do our work. Why should we be scared to do our work? These statements against Modi will not yield any results,” he added.

He further questioned, “What was the progress on the Cauvery and Mahadayi river issues when there were 17 MPs?”

As many as 103 taluks in 22 districts were affected due to floods in August, in which over 80 people were killed.

Around seven lakh people were shifted to safe areas and thousands of houses were damaged.
