Man arrested for threatening to upload private photos of girlfriend

Bantwal: The local police arrested a person for abusing a woman on the pretext of marriage and then threatening to upload her private pictures on the social media platform.

The arrested is Mohammed Azharuddin (28), a resident of Malluru.

As per the sources, Mohammed befriended a girl few years ago and eventually developed a relationship with her after promising to marry her, but later refused to honour his promise.

When the girl confronted him, he threatened her to upload the pictures of hers in social media and defame her, following the girl, approached Bantwal police on October 4 and filed a complaint against him.

The police soon arrested the accused and book him under section 417 and 354(A)(1)(i) IPC. He was also produced in the court and since then he has been remanded to judicial custody.
