Heavy rain forecast for next two days

Mangaluru: Medium to heavy rains coupled with thunder and lightning is being experienced in the coast and the hinterland since a few days and is expected to continue for a few more days.
Forecasting heavy rainfall, the meteorological department has announced yellow alert for Sunday, October 13 in the south interior and north interior regions of Karnataka and the state of Kerala. Additionally, heavy rain is expected on Monday in the coastal region and in south interior parts of the state on Wednesday.
As of Saturday, maximum temperature of 33.9 degree Celsius was recorded in the city of Mangaluru, which is four degree more than the usual temperature for this time of the year, while the minimum temperature recorded was 23.9 degree Celsius.
Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning was reported from many parts off the coas on Friday Oct 11 and some houses were damaged as lightning struck them in Ulloor-74 gram panchayat limits in the taluk of Kundapur. Heavy rain was also reported from Karkala, Shirva, Siddapur, Manipal, Suratkal, Venur and Thekkatte areas on the night of Saturday, October 12.
