Bengaluru: A man was stabbed to death by his lover’s husband after he repeatedly called him asking to send back his missing girlfriend.

The deceased is Thimmegowda (37), an auto driver and the accused is Mani alias Manikanta (33), a truck driver from Byadarahalli.

As per the sources, Ramya and Manikanta were married for 11 years and have a minor daughter. In 2018, Thimmegowda moved to a house near Manikanta’s residence. In no time, Ramya fell in love with Thimmegowda. He shifted to Sunkadakatte, following which Ramya too moved in with him.

However, Ramya left Thimmegowda in August this year and began living with a friend near Ullala, police said. Manikanta was not aware of the development, while Thimmegowda assumed Ramya had returned to her husband.

On the night of October 14, Thimmegowda, while downing liquor in a bar, called Manikanta 25 times asking him to send Ramya back to him. Unaware that Ramya had spurned Thimmegowda, Manikanta abused him. Angered by this Manikanta asked Thimmegowda to meet him near Sunkadakatte and hacked him to death, informed sources.

Following the incident, the police have summoned Ramya to record her statement.
