Nelyadi: 22 cattle crammed in a lorry being smuggled to Hassan from Mangaluru were rescued by Nelyadi police after a hot chase at Kolpe during the wee hours of Saturday. An accused was also arrested.The accused is identified as Nawaz of Tumakuru.
Although the cops had attempted to intercept the cattle smuggling vehicle at Hosamajalu on suspicion, the driver managed to escape with the vehicle, hence the cops chased the vehicle till Kolpe.
Nelyadi police have registered a case in this regard.
