ATM cheating case: Two accused escape from police custody

Kasaragod: Two youth who were accused in an ATM cheating case and were arrested by Uttar Pradesh managed to escape when in police custody. The accused are identified as Abdul Rehman Jamsheer (25), son of Hassinar and Abdul Rafad (25), son of Mohidu, both residents of Udama Kalanadu.

Uttar Pradesh innova police had recently arrested five persons from Kasaragod in connection to an ATM cheating case in UP. Among the accused, 2 were brought to Kasaragod for investigation, escorted by one SI and 4 policemen.

On Oct 19th, the cops along with the accused reached Kasaragod at 11 pm in the night. At around 12:30 am, they booked three rooms at a lodge located near the new bus stand here. Among them, the 2 accused accompanied by three constables stayed in one room.

Early on Sunday morning around 2:30 am, both the accused were found to be missing. Uttar Pradesh police have filed a complaint in this regard at Kasaragod police station.
