Decision soon on shifting SP office: Home Minister

Bantwal: Decision regarding the shifting of the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district will be taken soon after conducting a meeting at Bengaluru, informed home minister Basavaraj Bommai speaking the press on Thursday.
Speaking after holding a meeting with the police officers of western range at the inspection bungalow here Bommai said, “Action will be taken to upgrade Bantwal police station. Separate circle inspectors will be deputed for city and rural areas of Bantwal. Accordingly, the number of police personnel will also increase. This action is being taken as Bantwal is a sensitive area.”
Coastal security force to be strengthen
Informing that he has given instructions to strengthen the coastal security force and to take maximum action to safeguard the coastal area. Bommai said, “Karnataka has the highest number of police quarters in the country. The percentage of police quarters, which is 60% now, will be increased to 80%. In addition, we will also implement people-friendly system of common public to join with the police doing night duty.”
