Mangaluru: A nursing student ended her life by hanging herself in a rented flat of an apartment at Manju Shetty Compound at Attavar here. Apparently, the student took the extreme step late Friday night Oct 25.
The victim is identified as Anupama (23) from Kerala state. Her corpse was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a flat in Sridevi Apartment at around 11 pm.
The deceased was a student of a nursing college near Kankanady here and her mother is located abroad. It is learnt that the victim was residing at the said flat since about a year.
Pandeshwar police have visited the location and undertook investigation. According to the available information, a death note was found in her room.
Presumed love failure
Apparently, Anupama was in love with Allen, working for Merchant Navy based at Chennai. It is learnt that in the recent past, fissures had appeared in their love life. It is said that Allen had arranged the above rented apartment for her. Reportedly Allen had dismissed her proposal for marriage.
