Hubli: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday criticiszing Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah over his remarks on Veer Savarkar said that the former Karnataka Chief Minister does not know anything of Savarkar.
Addressing presspersons here Yediyurappa said, “After becoming Leader of Opposition, Siddaramaiah is talking loose. He spoke about Veer Savarkar. He does not know ABCD about him. He will get to know about him something if he goes to Andaman. There he will get knowledge about what he (Savarkar) had experienced in jail.
He further added, “Secondly, a person, who had been the Chief Minister, speaking lightly and in singularly about Speaker does not show respect to him. He should apologize to the people of the state. And in Assembly also by moving privilege motion, he spoke singularly. It is the first of its kind in the history of the nation. At least now he should hold his tongue, people will teach him a lesson.”
It may be recalled that on October 18 Siddaramaiah had slammed the BJP for its move to prop up Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar for the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
