Mangaluru: The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has confirmed the authenticity of Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) owner late VG Siddhartha’s signature on a purported letter that was was circulated among employees after he went missing on July 29.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner P S Harsha informed that according to the FSL report Siddhartha’s signature on the note in question matches with other signed documents of his that were collected from his house and office. He also informed that the probe is in its final stages.
The letter is believed to be the final note by the late promoter. However several doubts were raised regarding its authenticity whereafter the note was sent to the Questioned Document of Examination (QDE) wing of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for confirming its authenticity. Now, all the signatures have been matched with the one in question during the examination at QDE.
“FSL and the probe till now have been hinting at suicide and the department has not taken any stand on the abetment angle. The sequence of events clearly suggests that he committed suicide. The signatures matching is also crucial evidence that supports the suicide angle,” the commissioner added.
