Pingara Rajyotsava Award to be bestowed on MozziQuit inventor Ignatius Orwin Noronha

Mangaluru: The 15th year Pingara Rajyotsava Award will be awarded to Ignatius Orwin Noronha of Mangaluru, inventor of MOZIQuit an eco-friendly, non-chemical, central government recognized and internationally appreciated mosquito killer machine at a ceremony to held at Town Hall on November 12.
Noronha, a Limca Book record holder, who invented, tried, tested and established a manufacturing unit of mosquito killing machine in Mangaluru was recognized by Central Government and was granted Rs. 15 lakh for his achievement.
This machine was tested in Goshalaas, public places and houses.
It is significant that an application was forwarded by a Scientist of Bangaluru-based Malaria Research Centre suggesting Ignatius name for this. It is very important that a Mangalurean is recognized at this juncture of Dengue and Malaria affected time.
Bishop of Mangaluru Rt. Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha will bestow the award. MLC Ivan D’souza, former MLA J.R. Lobo, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad Dharmadarshi Harikrishna Punaroor, Roy Castelino, former President of Konkani Sahithya Academy and Dr. Suresh Negalaguli, President Chutuku Sahithya Parishad will be the Guests of honour.
There will be literature and cultural programs by Mangaluru Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishad and recital of poems by 25 Kannada renowned poets will be held at the function.
A Poetic drama named Gokula Nirgamana will be performed by Shwetha Arehole.
Selection committee comprised of members CG Pinto, Dr BG Suvarna and president of district working journalists’ union Srinivas Indaje, Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, former President of Konkani Sahitya Acedamy Roy Castelino, president Chutuku Sahitya Parishad Dr Suresh Negalguli. Coordination of the selection was done by Fr William Menezes and Elias Fernandes, director of Fourwinds advertising agency.
