Mohiuddin Bava assault case: Former city Mayor’s son held

Mangaluru: Kadri police on Thursday, October 31 arrested Azeem, son of former city Mayor, Gulzar Banu on charges of assaulting former Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava.

The incident took place on Wednesday, October 30 shortly after the press conference organized by the district Congress to announce its candidates for the forthcoming MCC elections concluded. Azeem and his supporters reportedly assaulted Bava as he was coming out of the meeting venue allegedly over denial of a ticket to contest the elections.

Acting on a complaint filed by Bava’s personal assistant, Harris in this regard, Kadri police conducted inquiries and arrested Azeem. He was produced before the court on Thursday evening.
