Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar, who admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Friday evening after he complained of back and chest pain was discharged from the hospital on Sunday morning.
Addressing pressperson after his discharge Shivakumar said, “I’m better now, but the doctors have asked me to take complete rest for the next two weeks.”
Earlier on November 1, Shivakumar complained of extreme fatigue and backache while attending the Rajyotsava programme, organised by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and was rushed to the hospital.
“He had high blood pressure and low sugar. He had also complained of back pain and chest pain following which he was hospitalised on Friday evening at Apollo Hospital at Seshadripuram. He is undergoing treatment,” said Shivakumar’s personal assistant, Thyagaraj.
The Congress leader had taken part in various events ever since his release from a Delhi prison in the money laundering case, which had a negative effect on his health, he added.
It is gathered that doctors have asked the Congress leader to undergo tests for dengue and chikungunya as well.
Sources close to Shivakumar said he has been suffering from Thyroid, Hypertension and Hypoglycemia for more than a decade.
