Kamath blames Cong for hike in water tariffs

Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Monday, November 4 blamed the Congress for hiking water tariffs and later training guns on the BJP.
Hitting out at Congress for not implementing water pricing in an organized manner when it was in power at MCC Kamath informed that the party had hiked water tariffs in June and now that the election is approaching it is blaming BJP. He was speaking at a press meet organised here.
Reacting to allegations made by former Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava against him, Kamath said that he has not pressurized anyone to withdraw the assault case.
Condemning the assault on Bava by Ajeem, son of former mayor Gulzar Banu, Kamath said that the persons who assaulted Bava had approached him, and thus, he called Bava and informed him the same. “I did not exert any pressure or influence for withdrawal of the case,” he stated adding that he had called the police station to collect information about the assault.
He exuded confidence that BJP will win the upcoming MCC elections with support of people.
