Lord Ram ancestor of Hindus & Muslims: Baba Ramdev

Udupi: Hailing the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya case, Yoga exponent Baba Ramdev said that Prime Minister Modi should lay the foundation stone for construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya on Ram Navami day.

The yoga guru arrived in Udupi on Friday to participate in the five-day yoga camp, from November 16-20, organized by Pathanjali Yoga Samithi Haridwar in association with Paryaa Palimar Math.

Speaking to media persons here, Ramdev said that Lord Ram is ancestor of both Hindus and Muslims and both community members should support each other for construction of the temple and the mosque.

Ramdev expressed that the Ram Mandir be established as a main pilgrimage center for Hindus just like Mecca is for Muslims and Vatican is for Christians

“Several Hindu leaders, including Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji had dreamt of buliding Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The apex court has directed formation of a trust to oversee the construction of Ram Mandir. The trust should include all leaders, Swamijis who contributed in making this dream a reality.” he said.

Welcoming the court’s decision to allot alternate 5-acres of land to Muslims, he said that the mosque should not be built within the 67 acres of land belonging to Ram Mandir as it would again trigger controversy.

On Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks, Baba Ramdev said “Owaisi is an mentally-ill person and keeps coming up with nasty remarks. He is trying to create clashes between Hindu and Muslims but we should focus on maintaining peace and unity.”

The Yoga Camp:

The Pathanjali Yoga Samithi Haridwar conducts yoga camp annually in a state every year and this time the camp is being organised in Udupi. The 5-day yoga camp is being conducted at the Sri Krishna Mutts parking area from 5 am to 7.30 am. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will guide participants about the Asanas during the 5-day camp.
