Bengaluru: Police booked a KSRTC bus conductor under IPC section 325 for allegedly pushing a PUC girl student out of a moving bus on the issue of travel with a student pass.
The incident took place on November 11 afternoon when the victim, Bhoomika, 16, had boarded the KSRTC bus to Kanakapura. The accused has been identified as Shivashankar attached to Harohalli depot.
The conductor demanded that she buy a ticket as passes were not allowed on the bus. The conductor did not oblige to Bhoomika’s request to allow her to get down at the next stop and pushed her out of the bus.
Bhoomika sustained injuries on her forehead and left knee and passersby rushed her to a hospital
Bhoomika’s mother said that her daughter was lucky to not have been run over by a BMTC bus approaching from behind. “The KSRTC driver did not stop the bus even after realising that she was badly injured,” she added demanding action against them.
A complaint was filed at Konanakunte police station. Police said a notice has been issued to him to appear for investigation.
Meanwhile KSRTC Managing Director Shivayogi C Kalasad condemned such behaviour by its staff and informed that the conductor has been suspended.
“It is a long-distance bus which doesn’t allow student bus passes. Apart from the police investigation, a departmental inquiry has also been ordered,” he said.
